ABOUT US

This trip will provide us with an opportunity to touch the lives of the Tarahumara Indians and many children who live in the city of Creel.  We will be caring for children at the Children's home in Creel and neighboring Children's Home in Bachiniva. We will also be providing care to the Tarahumara Indians, who still live in the caves in the mountains around Creel.

The mountain people currently suffer from upper respiratory infections, impetigo, lice, tooth decay, and conjunctivitis. These people live in constant threat of starvation, cold, tuberculosis and dehydration. Malnutrition, poverty, substance abuse, and alcoholism are also very common among them. Hygiene is a big issue there and there is a high prevalence of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
